Back to School Rally

Mission/Purpose:
To create a community environment where neighbors can share and participate in community events that cultivate fellowship and get people connected to each other, which will enhance the living and social environment of the Community.

Back To School Rally

Hello Neighbors,

On behalf of our HOA Board, we want to sincerely thank each of you for making our Post Back To School Rally a huge success! It was an awesome day, and what was planned to be a kids’ event, ended up being a great time for the adults as well! More like a family reunion, with amazing participation and love. 

A special thanks to our Hospitality Committee for their vision, hard work and countless hours spent to plan and organize this event. Thanks also to our Men of Purpose Committee for cooking the delicious food and keeping us entertained with jamming music. And we sincerely thank our Social Committee for supporting us with this special day! 

And last but certainly not least, we thank our awesome homeowners and HOA Board members who contributed so generously with monetary donations, school supplies and their valuable time to ensure that we had an abundance of school supplies which made the event a huge success! 

And a sincere and special thanks to Mayor Mario Avery (City of Fairburn), whose visit was indeed a highlight of the day! His valued words of encouragement, and continued support to our community are greatly valued and appreciated by all of us! 

As you can see, we are definitely on the right track to rebuilding our neighborhood to greatness! Let’s continue to get involved and work together to bring back the incredible unity that our community is worthy of. So, let’s all be part of the change that we want to see!

Get Involved:
Our Community is only as successful as we make it.  By getting involved, you can make a real difference in the community.  

Our HOA is homeowner controlled and has the mission of serving the homeowners and maintaining their property values. With such a large community, your ideas, input and other contributions are not only welcomed, but needed. All of the HOA meetings are open to the community and we strongly encourage homeowners to come. 

​If you would like to join one of the neighborhood committees, please contact the appropriate committee chair or fill out the Join Committee Form.

Goals:

• Plan and coordinate functions that will encourage fellowship, promote goodwill and enjoyment for The Parks at Durham Lakes residents.
• Coordinate with Neighborhood Watch committee to help welcome new home owners.
• Assist the Architecture/Landscape and Men of Purpose committees as needed with their community events.
• Partner with Pool committee to assist with their calendar events.
• Coordinate with Board or setup a link on the website for sick and bereavement.  So social committee can call, pray, or send out cards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Chair and co-chair:

• Primary contacts for scheduling club house rental.
• Organize dates and time for social committee meetings.
• Make sure the original condition of the club house is maintained.
• Responsible for completing all necessary clubhouse rental paperwork and submit money to treasurer.
• Welcome new home owners to the community.
• Accomplish the goals set by the social committee.
• Attend Board meetings as required/needed.

Members:

• Plan and organize community social events as approved by the Board.
• Committee should meet as needed to review, plan, and discuss social events.Assist and attend events to welcome new home owners to the community.
