The City of Fairburn issues Occupation Tax Certificates only to those businesses located within the city limits of Fairburn. If a business is located in unincorporated Fulton County the owner must apply to the county for a business license. Those individuals engaged in any business, trade, profession or occupation within the city must register with and pay an occupational tax to the City of Fairburn.

The Fulton County Tax Commissioner is responsible for the billing and collection of real and personal taxes for the City of Atlanta and Fulton County. The Tax Commissioner also administers business licenses to ensure compliance with state and county regulations and ordinances.
The Tax Commissioner manages the registration and titling of cars, trucks, trailers, motorcycles, mobile and motor homes, and any other motorized vehicles using Georgia's highway system.
Vehicles
Out-of-state tags expire 30 days after you move to Georgia, regardless of the dates shown on the tag.
Only two exceptions: non-resident military members and full-time college students.

The following documents are required for enrollment in Fulton County schools:
- Certified birth certificate from your state department of vital statistics
- Immunization records on Georgia state forms
- Vision, hearing and dental screening records from a family physician or local health clinic.

Fulton County Elections and Voter Registration
- You have to be a U.S. citizen and at least 18 years old to vote in any city, county, state or federal elections.
- You must be registered 30 days prior to an election to vote in that election.
